Account Manager, Ingredient Sales

Position Summary:
The Ingredient Sales Account Manager will lead all ingredient sales efforts in business-to-business sales. The role will be responsible for developing and growing new business pipelines and expanding existing accounts; in addition, the role will prospect to owners, buyers, product development, and marketing individuals at manufacturers, retailers, sports nutrition brands.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Prospect for and close new ingredient sourcing accounts/business
- Effectively manage and maintain strong relationships and rapport with existing and new customers
- Grow existing ingredient accounts year over year with new products and increased quantities
- Manage an ingredient profile of Creatine HCl (CON-CRET, Generic), Creatine Monohydrate (CreaBOOST, Generic), and Citrulline HCl (HydroNOx) nationally and internationally
- Engage in sales calls for projects and co-man opportunities to determine scale of opportunity and ability to provide ingredients for
- Facilitate in ingredient development process, working alongside PD/ R&D, procurement, production, project management, and accounting to evaluate profitability and, build out the spec to the customers satisfaction
- Work closely with project management and finance to yield acceptable margins on all ingredient sales and customers.
- Attend relevant tradeshows to prospect for new customer opportunities and connect with existing accounts in person as well as driving brand and product awareness
- Engage in discovery calls with brands and manufacturers discussing product applications, formulas, ingredient licensing, pricing, etc.
- Log outreach with leads, prospects, and customers in NetSuite to keep up-to-date record of account status and development
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5+ years of proven business-to-business sales experience, preferably with a CPG organization
- Nashville based preferred, open to remote for the right candidate
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Tech Savvy
- Effective and authentic communicator with strong oral, and written communication skills
- Must enjoy a fast-paced work environment
- Some weekend travel could be required based on business needs
- Degree in Business is preferred
- Working knowledge of the market and competitive products preferred
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours.
- Walking, bending, light lifting to 25 lbs.
